I am very skeptical with 5 star reviews, I never know what the agenda is about the rating, maybe it is from some one who has something to gain with a 5 star review. That said, I give the product 5 stars. I feel very lucky that I found this Accessory kit.
It took me about 2 months to decide to buy this camera and it was worth the wait. The some of the complaints that I have read about the camera was that the menu was hard to use. Well, I don't think that is entirely true. I was able to manage all the main functions with out the use of the manual (I've had a lot of cameras before so maybe that helps).
The kit comes with every thing that it says, and everything is brand new, no problems what so ever. The only thing is that the case doesn't fit the camera completely, you kinda have to squeeze the case and zip it closed for a tight fit.
One thing that I read about and was not very clear is that to make movies that are longer them 10 sec, it seems that you need to use a xD-Picture Card. The microSD will only give you only 10secs. I don't know if this is ture because I just bought a 2 giga xD card and I haven't used the 8 giga microSD card yet. If this is something that might be a deal breaker for you please look it up and make sure that this information is accurate.
All in all, I was very satisfied with the camera, absolutely amazing pics (out doors and underwater). You will read in other reviews that night shots and indoor shot are not that good, and that is ture. But that should not be something that makes you give up on this camera. There are a lot of awesome features that you can use, macro, super marco, macro with led light, sequences shot (press and hold the button for sequential picutres), sequence shot with flash... there is alot to have fun with!! I planned on using this camera for outdoors only and use something else for indoor and night shots, but that was nor necessary, this camera can handle itself pretty well.
I did buy a separate silicone case that goes on the camera and helps minimize scratching, even though this camera is tough I want it to look good.
Get this camera and go outdoors and jump in a river or the beach and have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| I had the Olympus Stylus 720 SW and was very happy with that. When I saw there was an upgrade to that and more durable, I was all over it! When I got it, I started taking pictures and was very impressed. I gave my 4yr old son the other one and he thinks he has the best camera. The only thing so far that's different I don't like about the Olympus Stylus Tough-8000 is with the Olympus Stylus 720 SW you took the battery out to charge it. This one you keep the battery in the camera to charge it and it comes with an extra battery. ? So if you plan WAY ahead, I guess it's good. Overall, for the price I really do like this camera with the extras. |

Everything arrived as stated and the camera appeared to be a good choice. As far as construction goes it's great, although the 'black' panel on the front is made/coated with something that will just not clean, it's always covered in marks and finger prints no matter what you do, but that's minor. The big problem is the picture quality! In low light it's just plain terrible! More grain that I have ever seen on a digital camera. Take a look at this picture of my son:

To be honest if I was living in the US I would return it, but to ship it back would just cost too much. I'll keep it for it's durability and that I don't have to worry about it getting wet, falling in the pool or dropping it.

| I recieved all my things in good condition. I ordered my product package a few days before I recieved it. It arrived in a timely manner. I checked amazon to make sure I recieved everything in my package. Cameta Camera will con you out of your money. They even said on the site that there was 3 or 4 packages left before they ran out and the it would no longer exsist. Not even a week after I ordered the package they lowered the price from 420 dollars to 380. Be careful when dealing with this company. I will NEVER use this company again! |
