Megapixels and Digital Cameras
Without too much into the technical details, the number of megapixels (MP) a camera, the quality can be higher. This in turn will determine how much pressure you can get worse before printing image begins to make.
Here is a simple guide is to decide what is right for you.
Two MP or less. This is typical of earlier digital cameras, many cell phones or PDAs. Of course you can not expect too much and I would not recommend this size forprinted, but you can get some decent results with small print, if you're not too picky.
On the other hand, it would be perfectly fine if you were, especially in e-mail pictures or post them on the net.
Three MP This size is probably the best choice for the casual photographer, a good compromise between price and quality. You can expect good quality 6 x 4 prints and reasonable in 7 x 5 prints in 8 are even a fair x 10 inches
Four MP This is the point atcan you really expect good picture quality and very good quality for prints up to 8 x 10 inch size to the needs of this huge mass of photographers for nearly all kinds of pictures of the family will meet vacation shots portraits and landscapes. Recommended for photographers to give good results for most normal purposes.
Five MP This works even higher quality pictures and beautiful prints to give up about 11 x 14 in. So if you are in large prints, this size you do well. Thisis the minimum size that you expect that you can start selling your images on the sales markets.
Six MP Here the quality starts really kick in. You should be capable of very high quality in x 14 prints and 11 are possibly higher dimensions. Ideal for designing or marketing to the markets.
More than six MP here are starting professional level. You will get excellent results, but at a price. Before you select this option, ask yourself if the price is justifiedfor the purposes for which you will use to use it.
Examples of this category, high-end compact cameras, digital SLR cameras and style, of course, the adult high specification purely digital SLR models (DSLR).
You would only use this specification of the camera when you were in a semi-or fully professional work or if you are a serious amateur. If you would be in sports or wildlife photography better off buying a DSLR because they are a series of offers () even more expensiveLenses that would be necessary for these purposes.
So you have it. Select the MP value to adapt to your purposes. It would be more expensive than buying a 6 / 7 MP camera, when all you are there for the use of the family, holidays and general shots – four or five MP camera would be quite sufficient, and enter about prints . 8 x 10 without a problem.
On the other hand, if you really want high quality results for the sale of your images, six MP camera wouldbe a better choice. For professional photography or special, may you have a camera with a higher MP value.
A word of warning here! Whatever camera you're tempted to buy, make sure it has a reasonable optical zoom function, unlike a digital zoom. I would recommend at least three times optical zoom. Let numbers for the digital zoom value for a camera quoted are led astray.
An optical zoom enlarges the subject withoutLoss of quality, increases in effect, a digital zoom "" all the pixels and can reduce the quality significantly. This has led to a reduction in the effective value of MP.
